New Zealand Business Development Manager / Country Manager Candidate

仕事内容: We are looking for a New Zealand Business Development Manager / Country Manager Candidate to help develop a new business platform connecting Karuizawa, Japan and New Zealand. Karuizawa International Education Group currently operates businesses in international education, IT and software development, accommodation and hospitality, real estate, agriculture, equestrian-related activities, and car rental in Nagano, Japan. As our next stage of international expansion, we are exploring long-term business and investment opportunities in New Zealand. You will work directly with the Group Representative to develop the project from the ground up. Key responsibilities include: * Researching New Zealand markets, regions and new business opportunities * Identifying potential properties and businesses for investment or acquisition * Researching freehold motels, lodges, holiday parks, accommodation facilities, land, farms and equestrian-related properties * Communicating with New Zealand real estate agents, business brokers and property owners * Coordinating with local lawyers, accountants, financial institutions and other professional advisers when required * Reviewing business models, operating structures, profitability and investment potential * Developing relationships with local companies, organisations and professional networks * Building partnerships with New Zealand schools and educational institutions * Developing study programmes, corporate training programmes and other education-related projects between Japan and New Zealand * Exploring accommodation, agriculture, equestrian, tourism and nature-based experience businesses * Supporting property inspections, business meetings and negotiations in New Zealand * Supporting the future establishment and development of our New Zealand operating base Our long-term concept is to create a sustainable business cycle: Education & Training → Accommodation Demand → Medium- and Long-Term Accommodation → Agriculture / Equestrian / Tourism Experiences → Increase Business and Property Value → Reinvestment This is not simply a translation or administrative position. We are looking for someone who can actively identify opportunities, build relationships, make practical recommendations and help turn ideas into real businesses. The position will initially be an independent contractor role based mainly in Japan/remote. As the New Zealand business develops, there may be an opportunity to take on a larger role and eventually become the Country Manager / Head of New Zealand Operations.

Preferred skills and experience: * Practical experience living, working or doing business in New Zealand * Good understanding of New Zealand business culture and local market conditions * Ability to communicate professionally in both English and Japanese * Existing professional or business networks in New Zealand are highly valued * Experience in business development, project management or international business * Ability to independently research opportunities, analyse information and make practical recommendations * Strong communication, relationship-building and negotiation skills * Willingness to participate in occasional business trips to New Zealand Experience in any of the following fields would be an advantage: * Real estate investment, development or property management * Motels, lodges, hotels, holiday parks or other accommodation businesses * Business brokerage, M&A or business acquisitions * International education, study abroad or corporate training * Tourism and hospitality * Banking, finance or accounting * Agriculture, farming or forestry * Equestrian or horse-related businesses You do not need to have experience in all of these areas. We particularly value people who are proactive, entrepreneurial and comfortable building a new project from the ground up. This is not a translation-only position. We are looking for someone who can understand our business vision, develop local relationships and help turn opportunities into real projects. Nationality is not important. We welcome candidates of any nationality who have strong practical knowledge of New Zealand and can work effectively between Japan and New Zealand.

月給10万円～30万円 給与: Monthly compensation: JPY 100,000–300,000 Compensation will be determined based on experience, skills, practical New Zealand experience, local networks, scope of responsibilities and expected level of involvement. This is an independent contractor position, with an expected commitment of approximately 1–3 days per week during the initial stage. Additional project-based or success-based compensation may be discussed for significant contributions to business acquisitions, investment projects, partnerships or new business development. Reasonable transportation, airfare and accommodation expenses for approved business trips to New Zealand will be covered separately by the company. If the position develops into a permanent role or New Zealand Country Manager / Head of New Zealand Operations, compensation and working conditions will be reviewed accordingly. No fixed overtime allowance applies to this independent contractor position.

勤務時間・曜日: Flexible working hours and days. This is an independent contractor position, with an expected commitment of approximately 1–3 days per week. Most work can be performed remotely, including market research, online meetings, and communication with New Zealand partners. Occasional meetings in Karuizawa and business trips to New Zealand may be required. Working hours can be arranged flexibly to accommodate the time difference between Japan and New Zealand.

休暇・休日: This is an independent contractor position with no fixed working days or holidays. Working days and schedules can be arranged flexibly based on project requirements and mutual availability. The expected commitment is approximately 1–3 days per week, and candidates may adjust their schedules around other professional or consulting work. Occasional meetings or business trips may be scheduled in advance when required.
